There is a rapidly growing population of immigrant communities across the United States. According to research by the Pew Research Center, immigration continues to play a significant role in the country’s demographic, economic, and cultural landscape.
Each year, the United States welcomes newly arrived immigrants from Africa, Europe, Asia, Latin America, and other regions of the world, many of whom are non-native English speakers. While these individuals bring valuable skills, experience, and cultural knowledge, many face barriers to education, workforce advancement, and access to accurate information upon arrival.
As a result, a significant number of newly arrived immigrants, particularly young adults, are concentrated in low-wage, low-skill service-sector jobs. These challenges are often compounded by language barriers, limited access to formal guidance, and reliance on informal or inaccurate information within their communities. Without exposure to reliable educational pathways, workforce training opportunities, and language support services, many immigrants remain unaware of options that could lead to sustainable careers, economic mobility, and long-term community integration.

According to research from the Pew Research Center, many immigrant communities in the United States are composed primarily of young adults, with a significant portion of the population between the ages of 18 and 45. Despite their potential, energy, and aspirations, many individuals within these communities are concentrated in low-wage, low-skill service-sector jobs.
These outcomes are often influenced by limited access to accurate information, language barriers, and reliance on informal guidance within their communities, which can restrict awareness of educational and workforce advancement opportunities. As a result, many young adults remain disconnected from pathways that could lead to long-term economic stability and professional growth.
Recognizing education’s unique role as a universally valued pathway for personal and economic advancement, Education For All Communities, Inc. (Efac) believes that cycles of poverty can be broken through access to quality education, workforce training, and skill development. By providing accessible, practical, and community-focused learning opportunities, Efac seeks to empower individuals to achieve upward mobility and build stronger, more resilient communities.
